The Fred Hollows Foundation, on behalf of the Central Australia and Barkly Strategic Eye Health Advisory Committee, engaged HPA to review the progress and impact of the Central Australia and Barkly Integrated Eye Health Strategy.

Our approach
The review examined the key features, aims and objectives of the strategy and assessed how successful it had been. The review also considered the strengths and weaknesses of the collaborative approach used by the organisation to implement the strategy and the extent to which this added value to service delivery within the regions. Steps required to sustain the strategy were considered as well as the transition of support of the strategy from the Foundation to local services providers. Options for improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the strategy were also assessed.
Outcome
The review summarised strategic and operational learnings that had emerged and identified which of these could be translated into future practice.
