Project objectives

The review of the NSW State Mental Health Telephone Access Line (SMHTAL) was undertaken as an ongoing quality improvement activity of the service. The objective of the project was to review business processes, governance arrangements and performance issues.

Our approach

HPA reviewed the performance of SMHTAL against the established standards for the service, and local health district resourcing of the service, including technology to support effective service delivery.

Outcome

HPA made recommendations on the structure of service delivery, capacity, scale, resourcing, technology, and corporate and clinical governance.
