The purpose of the evidence check was to identify methods for collecting patient experience in smaller facilities given small sample sizes.

Our approach
We undertook a systematic review of the literature and supplemented this with reviewing documentation and contacting individuals in other Australian jurisdictions and internationally to understand strategies for achieving robust and valid patient experience data for small facilities.
Outcome
The report was used by the Bureau of Health Information to develop a Smaller Facilities Patient Experience strategy for the NSW Patient Survey Program.
